  April 15th WT/ Generation - MORE Points/ Mind Control by WT Society

  we all chewed on this article pretty well when the news first came out about the " overlapping anointed " concept , however we discussed so much on just those 2 paragraphs dealing with the new " generation " theory - that almost the rest of the article was overlooked .

  our lurking inactive jw friend on the board sent us a copy of the april 15th.

  I seem to recall many years ago an article talking about the word "plan". You know how sometimes they love to just overanalyze some obscure point to death, like is it sanctification or vindication of Jehovah's name, which one it is I don't even know.

  But this article claimed that a plan describes something an man might have, saying plan implies there is some uncertainty about its success. A plan of course can fail for various reasons. Whereas Jehovah with all his super powers, when he PURPOSES something to happen, that means it will happen, just the way he intended. This may have been back in that wonderful book, God's Eternal Purpose, now Triumphing because we say it is.

  The last apostafest I went to was in Wisconsin, had a good time. There are lots of us apostates in Minnesota, we don't seem to get together as much these days.

  re Little House on the Prairie, the tv show was set in Minnesota, mostly based on the book, On the Banks of Plum Creek, I believe, but they had previously lived in Wisconsin too.

  ray was contemplating resigning from the gb and living out his life quietly somewhere outside bethel.

  Wonderful quality RePrints of Watchtower books and Publications

  there are a great many reasons it becomes difficult to "prove" to active jw's that the watchtower society has had an amazing series of crackpot teachings, beliefs and assertions over the years.. first off, the availability of old publications is problematic.

  the society has cleverly sucked them out of the libraries of local kingdom halls.

  older collectors are often dead or apostate.. ebay can provide steep asking-prices.. but--a few years back, i discovered the availability of reprints in quality self-published form on lulu.com and amazon.. these reprints are beautifully done and easier to read than an old, moth-eaten, mildew-stained yellowy tome from the early era!.

  Sorry, the average JW is afraid enough of older JW publications that were printed by the Society, they are never going to seriously look at books that are obviously and clearly reprinted editions from some place called Lulu. Obviously these are tools of apostates, they should be burned on sight.

  The only people buying these are exJWs doing research for their own amusement.

  I'd argue that it's STILL a Pro-JW site. Most people here love JWs and are looking for ways to help them break free from the Watchtower Society.

  i have not clicked on the link or responded, nor do i intend to.

  i accept that i am not going to change his mind, and i know he is not going to change mine, so i choose not to participate in debate with him in an effort to retain what little relationship i have with him.

  For what its worth, his email seems to be much less confrontational and manipulative than many others we've seen posted here. And the information he is presenting is at least somewhat relevant and from a mainstream media source. Usually its more like, "OMG a two-headed baby was born in Albania! The end is so close!!!!"*

  You are probably correct though not to make a debate out of it, like you said, enjoy the relationship you have with him, even if its not perfect.

  a dub at my door said my childs abuse was an isolated case !

  i left town after the court case for a fresh start , it was 18 months before dubs knocked on my door , so i told them why i was not interested in their message , aswell as the watchtower payouts in may 2007 ,with gag orders attached , they seemed quite shocked by that but warned me to be carefull what information i read on the web !

  i told them that in america they do not make up the news !

  they seemed quite shocked about what happened to my child but said it would have ben an isolated case !

  So its an isolated case? Does that mean that the situation was caused by elders not following JW policy on dealing with child abuse? Or did they follow the instructions exactly as laid out? If the answer is the former, then were the elders disciplined for their mishandling of the situation? If its the latter, then apparently something is wrong with their policy. So which is it? That's what I'd be asking the brain-dead dubs.
